It had taken him ages longer than usual to tune his instrument. Why did this place have to be so cold? Oh well, it's not like he had much of a choice staying here. After all, most of the people seemed about as gloomy as he was, except they talked. Sighing, Cable opened the rather fancy case for his rather used-looking violin. Brushing hair out of his face, he placed a sponge on the bottom and pulled a rubber band around it, holding it in place.
Cable flipped the instrument over and placed it on his shoulder, holding it in place by the angle his neck and head was tilted at. He pulled a small bow - the musical kind - out of the case and readjusted the strings. Playing a few mournful notes on it, he tuned it slightly, and faced the blank faces that passed him every once in a while. And then, he began to play some song probably nobody had ever heard of.
His clothes were rather plain. A faded blue jacket covered the black tee shirt he had thrown on this morning. His pants were navy blue jeans, bunching up around the tops of the Vans skateboarding shoes he had been wearing the night he ran away. After all, his shoe size had never once changed. The case for his violin was open, and the song slowed down slightly, almost as if he were pleading for somebody to give him even a dollar.

"That was rather beautiful" Mika whispered to the boy. She smiled sweetly and pulled in her jacket closer. Maybe she had been fantasizing, but she thought she reconized the tune from one of her performances when she had actually been in an orchestra. After about 7th grade she had only performed in bands, using her bass skills to keep up the rhythms. Music soothed her, and when she had heard him playing from the other side of the park, his playing guided her right to him. She tossed in 3 quarters (all she had) and plopped down on a bench right beside him. "What else can you play?" She inquisitively asked him. His playing had been soulful and sad, just about her exact feelings right now and she longed to hear more. The last time some violinist had really moved her had been her own father, and he hadn't played the violin for anyone in many many years.

Caleb was sitting on a bench when he heard the music. It was very beautiful, whoever was playing it was very good. Caleb loved the violin, he used to play, but he stopped out of defiance. He looked the way where the music was coming from. There he saw the boy with the instrument, and another girl. Caleb got up to join them. He stood next to them, saying nothing, not wanting to interrupt what the girl was saying. He smiled inwardly though, and tucked his brown hair behind his ear, revealing his green eyes. It was these eyes that looked at the both of them, giving them a once-over. "Cute." he thought."They're both cute."

Cable smiled, ending the song. He had heard the girl talking to him, and seen the boy walking over. He nodded to the girl, giving one of those quick, fake-Chinese bows, and moved the coins to his pocket. He placed his violin in the case, and pulled a notebook from his back pocket. He pulled a pencil from behind his ear and wrote quickly down, holding it up so the girl could see his response.
"Thank you, your donations and words are kind. I know quite a bit of music, perhaps you have a specific song you'd like to hear? Maybe a speed to go at?" Cable felt kind of bad, still not talking to anybody, but so far more people in this town had talked to him than anywhere else.

The boy writing his response puzzled her, but all musicians are a little weird (even herself) so she didn't question it. It took only a moment of thought for her to supply her answer. "Do you know Concerto VII by Corelli?" she asked him, and hummed a couple bars of it for him. That piece of music was sort of simple but had much emotion. Mika burshed back her red bangs and took a long look at his worn violin. In a way, she thought it was just as handsome as the boy playing it. Both reminded her of someone who was almost at the end of giving up, but still had passion in their hearts. It made her feel good. Turning to the boy who had come along a moment ago ,she inquired "Do you have any other requests?"

Once he saw the boy writing on the paper, he smirked, but let him be. Everyone had their own ways. When the girl talked to him , he had to think about his answer. After a short pause he said "Hmm...how about Minuet in G by Mozart? I'm truely sorry, I would give you but money but...." Caleb let his voive trail off and shrugged.
"Im Caleb, by the way. And you guys are?" Caleb liked to make conversation, and he wanted to ask this boy why he didn't talk. He wouldn't, of course. Like said above, everyone has their ways. This boy made him curious though. There was something about him , something most defenetly different. It intruiged Caleb.

Cable pondered for a moment. The fancy names given to songs weren't his strong suite to remember, so he simply shook his head. He hadn't spoken in so long, he nearly let loose a few words, but remembered his reasoning not to. He'd killed a guy, for crying out loud! He seriously didn't want to spill that, not even here. Well, maybe eventually. He wrote down some more, placing the pencil behind his ear.
"Sorry I don't talk. I should've said I know some untraditional music or something. Most of the stuff I know is what I learned a while ago, and most of it was arrangements of music from movies that were more my level. My name's Cable, ironic how our names are so much alike."
ooc: I will admit it. I used to be an orch dork, then I became a band geek. I barely know the names of any famous songs. Except... Eine Kleine Nachtmusic.

Caleb laughed, a laugh that got caught up in the wind. "It is ironic. Funny too." Caleb paused to smile. " It's alright you don't talk, maybe someday." He raised his eyebrows.
"Hmmm...something untraditional. I don't know. I havn't been keeping up on the famous junk going on nowadays." He flipped his hair out of his face, looking into Cable eyes.
Caleb turned to Mika. He smiled at her too, then said " Ohkay, something untraditional. Got anything?

"Well, how about some Phantom of the Opera?" She laughed at her request. Her favorite musical. The music she knew too well. Mika thought it was intreaguing that this guy- Cable didn't talk. And that Caleb and Cable sounded so much alike! "So... do you know how to play Music of the Night?" her question directed at Cable.

Cable smirked mentally when Caleb mentioned him talking someday. Maybe, eventually, he thought to himself. He pondered Mika's request for a moment, he'd heard that music very often back home. One of his siblings had been a drama freak, and loved to watch that sort of stuff. He pulled a broken string from his bow before placing the violin back on his shoulder.
Cable then closed his eyes for a brief moment, setting the bow on the string he was going to start on. He played the first few lines quietly, sounding like the intro, then increased his sound at the part where the Phantom would start singing.

Mika closed her black eyeliner-ed eyes and leaned her head back to enjoy the music. Even though she had heard the music many many times, the guy who was playing it now sounded the best. Listening to it on a CD or over the radio or television couldn't be compared to the live version she was hearing right now. The dynamics showed the soulfulness in his music. "Oh, this brings back memories." She whispered to Caleb who was standing right next to her. Suddenly, Mika had the urge to dance. Since the violinist was distracted at the moment she grabbed Caleb and started to waltz. Well, she attempted to waltz with him. Mika smiled and enjoyed the blissful moment while it lasted.

At first, Caleb was surprised. Then he laughed, and continued to dance with Mika. Not that he was any good. His mother wanted to have lessons, but Caleb refused. What was the point of dance lessons? he had told his mom. "Having fun, are you?" he asked Mika playfully. He waltzed her around Cable and smiled. Finally he stopped and listened to the music. "This guy is really good. I like it." he tod Mika softly.

Cable smiled when the pair started dancing. He seemed really into the music for a little while, until the song finally crescendoed to an end. Stopping, he mock bowed. As he straightened up, he brushed some hair out of his face. A grin still plastered to his face, and scrawled down a response.
"I'm not used to people actually dancing to it. There was this one blind guy once, he requested like nine different songs. He was bobbing his head and stuff, but that was probably the most."
